Hey everyone
I’m hoping for some help and suggestions for my lovely Dad who is 4 weeks post radiotherapy on a neck lymph node and struggling with endless coughing cycles at night!
he has a RIG and is nil by mouth as he has a fistula in his wind pipe :(
but- also has what I think are these radiotherapy symptoms of coughing cycles and lots of phlegm and spit.
In the day he’s fairly calm and not too much coughing but at night it’s so much worse and he gets into these cycles.
really want to help him but not sure the best things to do.
we have a nebuliser but again not sure when best to use it
any help and guidance from you lovely strong lot would be so appreciated!!
Hi. Try the nebuliser last thing before bed?
Having a humidifier in the bedroom might be handy too.
Sticky saliva is a problem after RT. It does get better. Drinking lots helps too.
