Has anyone been treated for tonsil cancer at Addenbrookes? I am due to have a PET scan post treatment and am wondering what the time frame is from having the scan to getting the results. Appreciate this may differ for each hospital.
Almost all PET scans are contracted out to a private provider so the result will be with your consultant fairly quickly. When I had mine post treatment the hospital had already scheduled in an appointment to discuss them. In any case I would suggest that a maximum of 2 weeks post scan is about the right timeframe.
