Has anyone had teeth out after radiotherapy and if so how did it go?
Hi Ali. I had one tooth removed a couple of years after radiotherapy. My local dentist would not touch it so sent me to a specialist dentist. He contacted my radiotherapy doctor to discuss and they agreed that it would be OK. to go ahead. I had no issues after the extraction. Liaison between the dentist and the radiotherapy doctor is crucial for a good outcome.

One out two years out of Tx. Wisdom tooth in line of fire. Hospital got it out in ten seconds. The worst bit was the anaesthetic in my palate. Took a little longer to heal than I would expect but OK after three weeks.
ORN risk is higher the longer you survive. I lost a front tooth (decayed under a crown then snapped off) Amazing own dentist managed to root canal, post and crown. If he hadn't managed that it would have been a plate. I have a map of my RT doses. that bit of my mouth got 30Gy. I wouldn't have risked an implant at that dose

That side of your mouth got less radiation get your dentist to look at it. Try not to worry. If it needs to come out best done soonest at your hospital.
