Hi,
I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing I am and I would really appreciate honesty.
I had surgery in 2024 to remove cancer off my tongue and then had 6 weeks of radiotherapy.
I have recently had pain in my neck but there is no lump but the pain is horrible.
I have seen my consultant and he is referring me for an ultrasound, I have this tomorrow.
as you can imagine, I am scared but also aware that the cancer my have returned.
has anyone else experienced the same thing and if so what was the outcome?
Thank you
Hi Ducklings.
I’ve just looked back through your posts to discover that you had a neck dissection. Was this both sides? And what side is the pain?
I ask because there may well be a link

I bet it’s nerve damage from the dissection. Your consultant is just being careful. Treatment failure is really rare.
Do you have a date for your US?
Fingers crossed.

Let us know how you get on. Sonographers usually tell you what they have found so do ask.
