So I can’t sleep with worrying about my dads appointment on Thursday with the oncologist.
long story short,
- had neck dissection to remove 40 lymph nodes, 6 of which were cancerous. - surgery 13th November.
- complications with seroma under his chin. - further op to “stick the inside to the outside”
- dentist repaired and removed 4 teeth and he had a nerve stuck in his gum - another op beginning of Jan.
- severe pain since - lost weight - getting peg tube fitted.
- hospital keep cancelling his mask fitting appointment.
- have an appointment on Thursday to see oncologist.
I’m so scared she is going to say there is nothing they can do now.
Hi and welcome. So sorry to read about your dad.
I know it’s hard but try not to second guess. There is always something that can be done. They wouldn’t be fitting a PEG unless some sort if treatment was planned. They can’t fit a mask till his swelling has gone down.
Do you have your dad’s staging yet?

Hi thank you so much for your reply. They said it was T0N2M0
since that he had 2 big nodes removed which had extranodal extension. Which were 68mm and 20mm.
they said the remaining 4 nodes removed were small. I don’t know if this changed the staging. We see the oncologist tomorrow 
So is he being regarded as Unknown Primary?
Good luck with there appointment tomorrow. Take notes and don't panic. Make sure everything is explained and that you have your Dad's CNS contact details

Yes, unknown primary and p16 negative!
Nothing has been straight forward, everything always seems to be worst case
