Preventative Radiotherapy rreatment following surgery. I would like to know if anyone on here has refused radiotherapy after surgery and how they are now
and PFJTHS come to mind. Have a look at their profiles?

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
As Dani indicated I refused - twice. My situation may be different to yours but I got a good 4 years out of going onto watchful waiting before a tumour "reappeared" and was a worthwhile target. Although I made the decisions they were fully supported by the MDTs.
Hi there Irenegran
not an easy decision, especially when the medics want to crack on with radio’ and encourage us to do so (all for the right reasons of course) but I do not regret refusing, and so far so good - I wasn’t exactly a spring chicken and personal circumstances I feel need to be taken into the equation. You obviously have another procedure to undergo and to recover from, you will make the best decision for you. Sending you all my very best wishes.

Thank you so much for your reply xx

I declined prior to surgery (neck dissection - 31 lymph nodes) and was told I couldn’t have the surgery without it. So I said okay, had the surgery and then refused. I didn’t want to take the risk of never eating again or other life long side effects. Still here but only 9 months since surgery and one clear full body scan with contrast. If it comes back, I’ll be put on immunotherapy.
