Hello. My husband has been diagnosed with orophangeal cancer, after having tongue cancer two years ago. Surgery is not an option and neither is radiotherapy as it's in the same place. He's been offered palliative immunotherapy on it's own or with a new drug trial.
Here's the quandary...immunotherapy can start next week on it's own. With the drugs trial, after various tests, it wouldn't start until after Christmas sometime, and then he has a two in three chance of receiving the drug vs a placebo.
Would you start Immuno now, or wait and do it with the trial in potentially 6 weeks? He could get two cycles in in that time.

Definitely the latter. I don’t think six weeks would make that much difference. I would chance getting the vaccine?

I think maybe it’s a question for his team. BTW. So sorry that the cancer is back. We have members here who have done very well on it.
