I made a mistake. My husband had a larynoscopy this mng, not an endoscopy.
anyway the dr said there is nothing concerning. Everything looks good the dr asked if he was smoking he said no drinking? He said I’m cutting down My question is, can the dr tell by doing this oricedure if someone is drinking or smoking? I’m constantly second guessing and wonder if my husband is telling the truth about smoking I have no proof that he is but he has lied in the past I just want calm in my life instead of wondering all the time I even second guessing drs
Hi markmac, welcome to the forum, I did smoke and I drink and as you see I have a laryngectomy for voicebox cancer, however I was also in an industry with strong chemical use so my Consultant told me that was more of the concern.
You haven’t mentioned what they are looking for on what part of the Head and Neck so it’s hard to point you in the correct help, my Consultant at no follow-ups has ever mentioned smoking to me and whether I was still doing so, although I would be hard pushed to do so after my surgery and reconstruction !
The problem also will be that your partner is going through a very tough time for obvious reasons is he waiting for any further tests and results because I can say that is such a worrying time for all but for the sufferer you don’t want to place any further stress onto others and we can tend to keep things bottled up
I hope the matter goes well and that you both take care
Tony

Same thing. So don’t worry. The throat is scoped with a nasoendoscope.

No
Good news that all is well though.
