Hello there, so sorry to hear you got the diagnosis no-one want to hear. I remember when my husband got his, T4N3M0, It felt like our world came crumbling down. It was just as overwhelming. All sort if emotions came in at the same time. It took some time to adapt. What got us through was being told that this form of cancer is very curable. Also,it was a long bumpy road, now 10mths post treatment,he is doing well. Nearly living a normal life again.Stay positive and strong, you can do this. If you feel like talking, this side gave me lots if help and support. Sending you big hugs. Fellow wife Mel x
Hi, welcome to the group from me. It is overwhelming and knocks you sideways to get a cancer diagnosis. However, be assured these cancers are curable and the treatment does give very high rates of cure; there are many of us on here who are living proof of that. I would advise anyone who is offered a feeding tube (RIG or PEG) to have it, they can be a lifesaver, if eating becomes difficult during or after treatment. Try to stay off Google, it will frighten the life out of you with outdated info. We are all here to help, ask any questions you have, someone will always answer if they can.

Good evening, so sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with throat cancer. To begin with, it's a struggle to take everything in, as it's all new and we know nothing about it or how we will react. Cancer is a word we all dread hearing, but treatment /surgery is very successful, with a good cure/recovery rate. Now that you are in the system, things will start to happen with scans, biopsies etc, so hopefully you can take a family member or a friend to further appointments for support and an extra pair of ears. Remember, we are all different and react and recover differently, but the main result is that we have all made a good recovery, and day by day, we adapt to what lies ahead. Please re-post if you need further help, support, or advice. Remember, you can get emotional help from a Macmillan counselor, as it sometimes helps to speak to someone who does not know you, i found it helpful. Wishing you all the best, take care.

This forum was and continues to be so helpful to me as my husband navigated tonsil cancer. He is 7 months post radiation and is in remission. I remember the early days when he was first diagnosed so I understand what you are going through. The people here told me to take it one day at a time which was hard, but it's good advice. Once you find out your treatment plan you might begin to feel a little better. Best of luck to you. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
