Hi all, and sorry for bothering you again.
I was unable to have my chemotherapy (cisplatin) this week as my red blood cell count was too low.
Im just wondering how this affects my treatment, will it have any detrimental effect on my treatment?
I have been getting my radiotherapy and only have 7 more radiotherapy sessions to go.
I spoke to my head & neck nurses who said it'll be ok, but I'm still a bit worried.
Thanks

Hi. Don’t worry lots of people miss one. Chemotherapy adds around d 6% to cure rate. Missing one makes very little difference

Thanks beesuit that puts my mind at rest.
I was worried it made a big difference.
Thanks Micky55
Obviously, ive not been here before so it was a concern.
Thanks for the reassurance.
Hi I was due to have 3 sessions of cisplatin I completed 2 and jointly with oncologist to cancel the 3 rd one. Overall chemo adds around 6 %to the final outcome e so don’t stress about it in 7 years post treatment for hpv hnc with lymph node’s.
good luck with last 7

Its nice to know it doesn't make a huge difference to the outcome.
Good evening , as Dani said, don't worry, as it will not make that much difference, well done in getting through your radiotherapy, just think another week and you will be finished with the treatment. Wishing you all the best in your recovery .
Chris
Thanks Chris
Its been a very rough road at times, and I really thought about giving up a couple of times, but great family and friends, and an amazing support team have got me here with the end in sight.
I can't wait to start living again.
