Helen. How are you doing after one week. Do you feel it’s getting any easier?

Hi Dani
Apologies for the late reply.
Just finished week 2. It was a tough start because my husband went back to work and he works away during the week. I was quite teary. But my wonderful friends stepped in.
The treatment itself is fine now. I'm not having sedation because that made me groggy for the rest of the day and I couldn't drive. So I now feel a bit more in control.
Today the roof of my mouth is sore and a bit painful to swallow. Paracetamol is helping but I can feel when it's wearing off.
I'm tired. I think that's a lot of the emotional feelings as well as the treatment.
Little bit wary of how much more painful this is going to get. I'm putting on the neck cream as much as I can.
Here's to week 3 and being half way through.

Hi Helen,
Well done on week 2. Don't be afraid to ask the nurses for pain relief and help at any time - you have so much going on and being in any sort of pain isn't helpful. I found that the Team looking after me were really helpful and caring. Wishing you strength for the rest of your journey.
Debbie xx
My team are great. Bit lacking in humour but nice all the same.
My treatment is on my right side so my left side is ok. But the right side roof is starting to hurt x

Don’t be brave. Tell your radiologists how you feel and if you need more pain relief. Make sure you get everything in place in a Friday. Weekends are when stuff happens! Well done, you’re doing great
