Tongue cancer

I think many of us are slaves to heartburn. I think oncologists expect it and lots of us are put on PPI 's like omeprazole and lansoprazole. The reason is that there is a delicate balance between the acid in our stomachs and the alkali in our saliva. Salivary pH tends towards acid once we have xerostomia and there you have it....imbalance.

Burning tongue is common and a neuropathy. There are often triggers so keeping a food diary may help you find what they are so you can either avoid them or put up with it.

Hi yes ti both. My burning tongue was triggered by food groups. Fermented eg cheese yoghurts acidic vinegar citric. I did a food diary for my use to find my triggers. I had it around  2.5 years.  I adore cheese so used to have it knowing I would suffer. I also used bee propolis to put on my tongue it did help. Available from Amazon or heath shops. It went as sudden as it came. My tongue on occasions was scarlet. 

acid reflux yes around 6 months after treatment I take 10 mg of omeprazole it keeps it at bay. 
oh the joys of hnc they keep on giving.

Hi Jg123, yes, it's very common to get heart burn after RT. I have Gaviscon Advance on repeat prescription. It works wonders.

Hazel is the bee propolis caps or spray. Is it for burning tongue or heartburn xx

Yes. I'm still on lansoprazole 

Hi sorry burning tongue it’s a liquid tincture. I got mine from Amazon as you can see may 23 was my last purchase  I used it ok but it can cause irritation  try finding your triggers first might be better option

lol there’s. Few more things unfortunately but they are all manageable . Like treatment we don’t get everything. The propolis seemed to help me. But like everything it doesn’t work for everyone. I found finding g my triggers helped.
