Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma

Hi all,

my husband is coming to the end of his radiotherapy ( 33 sessions for salivary gland cancer). As it is coming to the end, I’m feeling really anxious about what is next. I guess I have been focussing on getting him through surgery and treatment and now it’s over I am feeling more anxious about what is next and recurrence etc.

I just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there that was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and how they are doing now? As the cancer type is quite rare it’s been difficult to find people that have gone through the same thing.

Thanks

  • Hi Ann and welcome to the community.

I'm afraid I'm not clued up about your husband's cancer, only my own chap's, but hopefully someone will be along soon with far more knowledge to impart.

It's brilliant that he's already come this far and I hope you're both keeping as well as you can.

I felt a bit like that when my fella completed his RT, wondering what was coming next, but his team soon got in touch and the appointments started rolling in.

All the very best of luck to you both.

    Gill xx

  • Good evening Ann86, i have not been treated for this cancer but have had operations which involved the removal of salivary glands as they were seen as suspect. Sorry i cannot offer more accurate advice but it seems as if your husband has done well in getting through the radiotherapy. Hopefully he will just go for check ups / scans to make sure everything is going in the right direction. Wishing you and your husband all the best for a good recovery, take care.
