Hi, I'm now 6 months post radiotherapy and have lost hearing in my ear due to radiotherapy being around my ear. I'm struggling. I'm a teacher in my 30s and ENT first said it was an infection and then was told I was fine. Then told I would get grommets but later told I can't have them because of where my treatment was.
Does it get any better?
Does it get any better?
It depends what it is. If it’s a conductive loss due to secretions building up or inflammation it will probably get better
If it’s sensineural damage due to cochlear damage then it’s permanent. It’s what I have in one ear. Almost total loss of high end frequency. Get your hearing tested for a prognosis.
