Hi,
My mum has tonsil cancer and has had radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She had her PET scan last week after her treatment ended 12 weeks before. She is due to have a face to face meeting next week to understand how she has responded to the treatment. Before her PET scan, the surgeon assigned to my mum had scheduled an appointment for June. However, my mum received a letter today saying the surgeons appointment will now take place at the same time as the other appointment next week due to the results of the PET scan. As you can imagine, my mum is beside herself and assuming the worst. Can anyone advise as to why the surgeons appointment would need to be brought forward?
It might just be that the the surgeon expected the appointment for the PET to be some time hence the one in June was to discuss the results. That happened to me. I was given an appointment to discuss my scan six weeks after I saw my oncologist after treatment. Lo and behold the scan appointment came three days later rather than the five weeks or so my oncologist had anticipated.
I wouldn’t read too much into the rearrangements
