Preoperative anxiety

Hi I suffer from IBS and if I get severely stressed or anxious I end up with an upset tummy.  I suppose for your own safety you need to make sure that it is not some kind of infection and prolong your recovery after your surgery.  Hope things go to plan and best wishes for a speedy recovery.  

I hope things settle in the morning - ig must be hard to tell the difference between anxiety and upset tummy as the symptoms are the same. You are doing the right thing talking to the team tomorrow. 

Good idea to get it checked out as there are a lot of tummy bugs going around at the moment and that is the last thing they want in hospital.  That said, we all get anxious pre op and probably exhibit different signs of that anxiety.  In my case my blood pressure could probably put a rocket into space!  However, the hospital are never worried as they know it drops right back to normal one I am under. 

Hope all goes well with the surgery.  I have had 2 dissections and, for me, they are nowhere near as bad as the name suggests.  Recovery was relatively pain free and quick.  Fingers crossed you are the same.
