Hi everyone!  My husband has completed 9 treatments with his symptoms being fatigue and some pain managed with tylenol and loss of taste. Is it possible to have mild side effects?  We are told that stuff starts happening between 2 and 3 weeks which is coming soon. He is stage 1 tonsil cancer hpv.  I am trying to gear up for this.  Thanks for your support!

  • I should have said radiation treatments.

  • Hi Rara

Some do tolerate the treatment better than others...it is usually weeks 2-3 when the harsher side effects start...I had stage 2 tonsil cancer ....had to feed by tube after week 3...I hope your husband is one of the more fortunate.

  • Hello there,I feel for you and your hubby. What is his treatment plan? My husband had 30rounds of RT and 2rounds of CT,based on his diagnosis, his one was more severe then your husband by reading your story, we got told straight from the beginning that it will be a long bumpy road to recovery, and they new what they were talking about, I am not sure if you can gear up for this kind of journey, but all I can say is, take each day at the time, my husband started to feel the wrath of the treatment come week 3,fatigue/tireness, sore throat, till swallowing was impossible and then there is the weight loss, as he has a PEG fitted, getting the nutritions he needs is a battle. For us it's two steps forward, one step back at the moment. All the best and hugs.x

  • Good evening Rara2, yes it is possible to have mild side effects, i did not suffer that bad compared to others but fatigue and soreness of the skin like bad sunburn, hopefully your husband does not suffer too badly and takes each day as it comes, well done so far, all the best for the rest of the treatment.
