Fentanyl patches

Yes I used these towards of the end of my chemoradiation treatment due to severe ulceration in throat and mouth. Need to be under strict direction of doctor though as they are potent. Be wise to take laxatives as I had bad constipation. They got me through a tough time. Hope this helps.

Yep , hubby is on these . He was allergic (skin )to the first make , but now changed and OK. .... laxatives needed as they contain morphine which is constipating.

Fentanyl is not morphine but a synthetic opioid.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound so strident. It’s just that it is much more potent than morphine. You have to be really careful with it

When hubby had the patches 18 years ago for his first cancer ...(oral x 2   16.5 hrs surgery ) one of the patches came off .... and our dog found it  !!  The vet advised ringing the govt.poisons dept in London . All was well thankfully

Phew! 

I was prescribed these towards the end of my treatment and for the first few weeks following treatment.  I had oromorph too.  I literally slept through most of that time. They really helped.
