I am 53 and have not smoked for 8 years but have vaped
thank you
Hi John.It is very common to be anxious and depressed after a cancer diagnosis and treatment and something many of us have struggled with. I don't know anything about vaping but perhaps you could address your anxiety and depression in another way that may be healthier for your body. Macmillan has a support line and can provide counseling. Info is at the top of this page. I found talking really helped me when I was going through an anxious and depressed stage. Many people have also found that a short course of antidepressants have helped. Go to your G.P. and he can help with this.
Sending you positive thoughts

Hi spencer
yes I feel it calms me but I have cut down
Hi I would imagine vaping won’t help your side effects from treatment. Maybe a call to gp for a mild anti depressant could help. Speak with yiu cancer nurse as well am sure they’ll have come across this with others.

Ex smoker here too.
There are American research papers to suggest that not only the nicotine but also the propellants in e cigarettes can cause DNA damage in the cells of mouth throat and lungs though the risk is less than with tobacco. Me? I wouldn’t risk it. The risks of radiation alone in causing more cancer is enough to live with.
