How long usually for biopsy results? We’re so worried and waiting as the dr said he’d call us.

Took about a fortnight for my results.... they were inconclusive so had to be done again.... another fortnight

  • Hi Chris.
usually around two weeks but it’s taking longer these days, sometimes four weeks. You have to factor in the Christmas New Year break as most labs will be on short staff. Not ideal and we do worry. Hugs

  • I had the same as Peter.

The initial ones came after 2 weeks but they were inconclusive and they did more tests this took 4 weeks and lot of chasing. Mind you this was private.

NHS ones were 2 weeks, only had 1 so far by NHS.

  • I asked the same question of a histopathologist friend who explained to me that it’d be 2 weeks minimum as they usually have to wait at least 10 days while cultures grow in the lab -private or NHS.  As people often say in here, the waiting is one of the worst aspects about all of this. Wishing you all the best.

  • Two weeks, woth inconclusive results, new tests took 1 month and then 2 weeks again.

So I would say on average 2-3 weeks!
