4 years ago I found a lump in my throat- after scans was told I was born with it and it was normal.
Last year I got a cold and was struggling to swallow, felt like there was a lump in my throat- different to the first. Dr referred me back to ent and they refused to see me on the fast track pathway as they said I was already under them for a lump in my throat.
I eventually got an appointment, had scans, a barium swallow scan and they found excess tonsil tissue- I had my tonsils out when I was 3. This has obviously grown since the first scan I had.
last Monday I had a scope and biopsy under general and now awaiting the results. The wait is so painful. What is the average wait? I’m so inpatient

Hi Bex. 2 weeks was always the norm but it's often a week or even two longer. Give the department a ring after the two weeks to see what progress there is.
Fingers crossed for you

It doesn’t help that the operation took longer than expected but no one has spoken to me about why it was so long
Yes, nobody seems to offer anything up. You have to ask. At the moment there doesn’t appear to be anybody to ask those questions. It’s not a good state of affairs. In the initial aftermath of any investigation we are not in the best place to seek the answers.

I know. I’ll feel completely ridiculous if I’m worrying over nothing too
Bless you! You won’t. You will feel relieved and I for one will celebrate for you
