Tonsil cancer

I had tonsil cancer with spread to one lymph node. I had chemo+radio with no surgery and had a complete response.

Four years later, to my knowledge i am still cancer free.

It did take a very long time for my throat to recover, there are still some things i find too dry to eat (such as burgers in thick buns due to the bread). I still find i need a drink with food such as steak and chicken as well.

So i would not assume that throat dryness or discomfort is a sign of problems, i would of course mention them to the consultant.

I had Chemoradio... no surgery... tonsils were reduced greatly during biopsy procedures, zapping finished them off...took a while for my throat to settle down, 17 months post treatment and still get the odd niggle... Thoughts recurrence are normal for most, but recede over time.
