Hiya I have my 2 week referral appointment tomorrow at Lancaster Royal Infirmary it apparently is a one stop whatever that means, been told on here that it will be a ultrasound with needle biopsy and a camera, is there anything else they will do during the appointment.
The other question is, do they tell you anything at all during this appointment or will I still be in the dark when I leave ?
Hi. A one stop means they will do as many diagnostic tests as they can in one go.
Biopsy provides definitive results but most clinicians do know what they are looking at. If you ask you should get an honest answer even if it’s just to confirm what they are looking for
I had a scope then had to wait for an mri then a biopsy all stretched over a few weeks. A one stop is ideal.

Hello! I'm from the US so might be different of course. When I was referred to my Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) Dr. he did a camera (teeny tiny), down both nostrils to peer down my throat. Was easy peasy.. Upon looking, he did perform a needle biopsy to the back of throat and while it wasn't pleasant, wasn't horrible either. Quick & easy.. I received results back within A few days.
You got this! Sending positive vibes your way!

2 weeks if you're lucky here in UK. Often longer

OK so I'm a little peed off and confused, travelled all the way to Lancaster ultrasound at local hospital cancelled cause I was told they would do it at that appointment....and it didn't happen, he put the camera down was told couldn't see anything and that he would book a ultrasound with a biopsy for in a few days time ?
I asked him if he knew what was wrong, he said he doesn't know but wasn't "overly" worried huh what on earth does all that mean x

Not ideal but all you can do is wait.
Do chase the ultrasound up if you haven’t heard by Monday. Not trying to alarm you but sometimes there is nothing to see in the throat. Let’s hope your US and biopsy are clear.

OK so update the appointment was supposed to be a one stop but it wasn't, still don't know why I had to phone all around yesterday to try and sort an appointment for the ultrasound biopsy as Lancaster had no appointments available whatsoever to do it, spoke with furness general which is my local hospital got an appointment for the 6th Dec, but had a phone call this morning they have had a shuffle around and I've got my biopsy at 1.30pm today, my nerves are back lol I have a phobia of needles so gonna be a bit drained after today x
But I'm having it done that's the important part x
That’s good. It seems they are now on top of it.
Find out when the results are back and who to contact if you haven’t heard. Good luck

Hi so I had my appointment this afternoon, the radiographer said it was just over active thyroid didn't do biopsy as didn't see anything to be concerned about, said she could see quite a few within my neck and one deeper that was bigger than the one I was referred for.
In your first post ever you said you had blood tests at GP and all was ok. Did that include thyroid function?
