Hi there to all
has anyone had a peg tube and went to have it removed to be told they had to abandon procedure and left it in
being told was to risky to remove I think obstruction getting endoscope down passed to reach it
and they said I have to see oncology which luckily is Wednesday as was one booked already
I did have a full larangectomy January followed by another op February for pec flap and neck thing also radiotherapy six weeks finished in august
so my worry is they put ?recurrance tumour
i am hoping it’s scar tissue
Has anyone had this happen please
Due to the type of internal bumper I had on my PEG it was either another endoscopy procedure to pull it out or a "cut and push it in" and let nature take it's own course to get rid of the stump. I chose cut and push and it was quick, easy, painless and, I assume, it came out OK. I certainly was not going searching for the remains of my PEG in the bowl
Hi I did ask and she told me no it had to be done that way
and if failed would do that thing were they push it and you go toilet and it comes out later
unfortuately they could not get passed to do either soo was abandoned
I did think maybe could do from stomach but not mentioned after just took back to room
they are not sure if it’s a recurrence of tumour obstructing
such a worry Wednesday I hope oncology will have answers
I suspect we have the same PEG manufacturer. The manufacturer insists on endoscopic placement and removal. It was the clinical team that offered me the alternative. Despite the worry of it going through me I certainly did not fancy an endoscope down my very sore throat, hence opting for the cut and push.
I do hope they have answers for you on Wednesday. Please let us know how you get on.
I agree with you there only my team said was only route to take out umm wish I had the choice but they said they could not get past with scope so now wait and see land was not pleasant as like you sh a bad throat anyway we’ll all I can do is pray tomorrow all will be good at oncology and not tumour back again I will take a look at ur profile and Thankyou
