Tongue cancer

Hi just wondering if anyone will be attending the swallows head neck conference in Sheffield next Wednesday and Thursday. I'm going and looking forward to hearing the success stories and finding out as much as I can about this type of cancer. Xx

  • I would love to but it is too far to travel.  I just wished they did what they did during Covid and held it on line - they could combine that with an in person conference quite easily.

  • I know Peter I'm coming from northern Ireland. Just so interested in going to it. I'm going to Edinburgh to collect my daughter first then travelling on train to Sheffield on Tuesday.

  • It was in Cardiff one year and I was keen to go. My oncologist was a speaker too but Covid happened and they did it online

Ha ha....that made me laugh. Hazel knows me. I speak my mind and I'm very impetuous. I doubt I would make the grade.

Do have a good time. Chris Curtis could talk for ever and he probably will but he has founded an excellent resource.

Don't miss Emma Hallam. She runs the first and major award winning RT late effects clinic in Nottingham and try to catch Laura Marston who is just five years clear of a total glossectomy. Told she would never eat by mouth or talk again she does both.

If Thor Laser  (They do photobiomolation) is there say hello to Paul Burns for me.

  • Will do Danni. Will find it so interesting. There's another day in a hotel in northern Ireland in November run by cancer focus for head and neck patients and their carers which I'm going to. It will be very informative and has a chef doing cooking ideas too. There really is no support over here so I'm glad that's happening. So if anyone on this site from northern Ireland hasn't heard about it contact them. It's in Belfast. X
