Hi I am in the fortunate position to be post treatment by 5 and half months. They got the cancer in both my tonsils and I should be celebrating. Sadly I am not I returned to work at the beginning of September on phased. I started feeling really odd and poorly about 4 weeks ago. I had an appointment with the doctor who took bloods last week. The result came back my white blood cells are low so I am not fighting infection. I have a high liver marker and my thyroid is not working properly I feel really poorly and deflated.i am off work again which I am upset about. Has anyone got any experience of this or similar? The doctor said some are side effects from the radiotherapy and chemotherapy. All I want is to start to feel better. I feel so low and have no interest in food. I feel really bad asking. So sorry. have no interest in food
Forgot to add.
I wasn't interested in food for months and it had nothing to do with not being able to taste it. I could go all day without thinking about it, even when cooking for my husband but I made myself eat....or should I say my husband pushed me to. It did improve

Hi Dani, thank you! I thought I was unusual if not alone. Food like you, I have no interest at all and sometimes it's a real struggle. It's a relief I am not alone in this! This situation has one positive I have lost the weight I had been struggling to lose for over a year, ha ha! Thanks Dani x
Hi Jackie,
I'm the same too - I am 8 months after radio/chemo and have no interest in food at all. I eat to keep my calories up but get little pleasure from it. It seems to affect quite a few of us this way. I think we all get low points at times - thank goodness for this forum which keeps me grounded!
Sending hugs, Debbie xx
Hi Hazel7797 wow! You have had a journey. I think being more aware can have its advantages! Thank you for sharing that with me. I was feeling I was over anxious. Knowing you have had similar is a relief! Hugs Jackie xx
I've just had my good news day and of course am delighted, but even 8 months after the last treatment I find new symptoms appearing now and again. Suddenly this week I can't stand anything sweet (which is no bad thing), but it irritates my tongue. I understand that late symptoms can arise at any time in the future but hopefully will be brief.
I had a partial thyroidectomy 40 years ago (negative for cancer) so have taken thyroxine since then to prevent the gland being active and hence prevent it from growing "friends".
Hope it soon gets sorted for you.
