  • Hi Stick, welcome to the group. I applied Aloe Vera gel to my neck after (only after not before) each RT session, you could also ask your team for Flamazine, it works wonders. You're nearly there now, then time to recover.

    Hi Stick

Phone your CNS/RT team  ASAP....weekends are difficult times to get support...use whatever they recommend.

  • Thank u I shall have a look for that now, thank u ,how long does it take to heal, thay said a few weeks after my treatment finishes x

  • At the end of my treatment my neck was quite burnt and sore, the team gave me Flamazine, it worked wonders, it was so much better within a couple of weeks.

  • Hi I burnt very badly and my polymem bandage worked well I had it on all the time apart from treatment. I was told to,leave it on even if bleeding and keep,it in until the green gunk came through the other. Side then change it. I was told no cream at all whike using the polymem bandage.
Onky time my bandage was odd was during treatment then the radiotherapy team wrapped my neck in hospital grade cling film, which we took off and replaced with the polymer. But see yiur team tomorrow try to put the bandage back in for tonight otherwise your pillow might get stuck to the burn.

  • Hi sweet I've been wearing the polymem, for nearly 2 weeks now ,how long does it take for any sign it's getting better  I'm having to change it daily most times ,I feel like my treatment has finished, and now I'm on my own, where it is on my neck it's under my chin and it's hard to get dressing to sit right to ,so when I sleep it ends up by my cheek or down my neck ,
