Does anyone have some tips to help with the throat sweeping from radiotherapy.
cheers
Do you mean swelling rather than sweeping? Are you still under treatment or recovering?

I’ve just started my treatment 1 down /7 weeks to go and my neck is already showing signs of swelling up was wondering if ice chips/cubes were of any use to help
still new to this so not up to speed on the technical details
You should be under the care of an extensive team and the radiographers who see see daily is a good place to start. Tell them how you feel at every session and if you need anything they will pass this on.
Have you been given an assortment of creams and mouth sprays? I was given diprobase to moisturise with but found that too greasy so switched to Cetraben.
Contact your Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) too.

When my RT started I got alarming swelling under my chin ...the submandibular salivary glands.
These are hit and destroyed fairly quickly by RT and some of us seem more sensitive than others. I'm not sure that Ice Chips wool help but do ask at your next session
Where are you been g treated?
