Hi for reasons better know to its self if I drink and eat it reappears at the back of my throat for me to choke on. I take Lansoprazole which doesn’t seem to be doing much. Any ideas
I had the same. I have a small sliding hiatal hernia.
I saw a gastroenterologist privately. He told me to double up on lansoprazole until I felt better. I had to work hard to investigate my triggers. High fat foods and coffee are mine. These are well known food items that relax the lower oesophageal sphincter. Mint is another.
Are you actually suffering pain? Because GERD is painful. Silent reflux is really common and is usually pain free till you start getting effects in your throat and globus which is the feeling of something stuck there.
in addition to avoiding my triggers ( though not entirely… I can get away with them in small doses) I eat more frequent and smaller meals.
Tonight I went out to eat and had moules marinier. Stan ate most of my creamy sauce but even so I had a gulp of Gaviscon Advance when I got home.
