Hi,
I finished 6 weeks of chemoradiation in 12th May 2023 for tonsil & lymph node cancer. About 5 months ago I started getting scaly red spots that itch on my torso. I thought maybe psoriasis as I do have scalp psoriasis but I have been treating with hydrocortisone ointment & it just won’t shift. I googled causes of itchy skin spots on torso and one is lymphoma & now I’m worried. Getting appt with GP is near impossible at my clinic so just wondering if anyone else has had this and who I should approach for help, oncology, ENT, specialist nurse? Thanks in advance.
Hi Mmac
T2N1M0 Tonsil cancer.... Finished Chemoradio June 2023
I have psoriatic arthritis and was taken off long term methotrexate meds at start of CRT...itching and spots appeared 2/3 months after CRT treatment stopped.... I initially put it down to morphine usage.... GP put me on Piriton antihistamines (3 x a day) took a while to work but did ease the problem.... still bothered by the condition now....itching causes some sleep issues....Eurax cream helps but I have to buy this from pharmacy....mention the condition to your CNS..

Hi Mmac
You really do need to get a diagnosis to get the right treatment for the itchy skin. I had a few itchy red spots for a while after my treatment too but they went away when I took an antihistamine tablet.I still get them from time to time but only the odd spot. Don't know what causes it. However yours may be for a completely different reason to mine. Perhaps your Macmillan nurse may be able to shed some light on things.

Thankyou, yes I think to put my mind at rest I need to get it checked out. Unfortunately the health service in NI is appalling. Can’t get a GP appt for love nor money. Have been trying to ring speciist nurse all morning & no reply nor is there a possibility to leave a message as I’m just cut off after a couple of minutes of endless ringing. I’ll persevere as I’m just to concerned not to. Thank
for your reply.
If you’re eligible for a shingles or flu jab book one and show the nurse at the same time. It might be a short cut to see your GP
