Hi Everyone ,
My hubby went to get he's results from consultant on Monday. He had surgery last year for cancer of mandible and then radio therapy which ended in September last year. It's been a long wait but went for scan results like i said on Monday only to be told he had 2 greys areas but they would be discussing them at MDT meeting today . He is now booked for Monday to have a camera down he's nose and into back of throat to look at grey area at the roof of he's mouth . Will they tell him straight away what this is as he's convinced that he still has cancer and if they dont tell you straight away how long does it take for results to come back. It's been the hardest year as this is the second time he's had cancer as had bowel cancer 6 years ago and he said he doesn't feel like there's any fight left. Thanks in advance guys as i would be lost without you all
Hi bridgetb
Thats horrid that your husband is under investigation again
Biopsy is the definitive I’m afraid so you might just have to wait.
The surgeon might be sure whichever way straight away but he’ll probably have to biopsy anyway. I’m sure he’ll be honest with you.
Bioosy results usually take around two weeks but there are delays. If you haven’t heard in two weeks chase them up.
Good luck

Hi Dani , thank you for always coming to my rescue and it's always good to get help from here as i feel like i live on here and read everything as you never know if Paul is going to say ...ohh Bridge this is happening and i dont know if it's meant to be like this. He always chuckles when i said noo it seems to be normal as the lovely people on the forum share there experiences for which i am truly grateful for. Next step to over come then biopsy and camera on Monday .. thank you Dani xxx
Try not to worry too much. That area is a long way from the original cancer. Radiotherapy does a lot of damage. It might well be just that.
My throat looks like Jackson Polliock has splashed red paint around with gay abandon. My oncologist always comments on how much telangectasia there is.

Hi Bridgetb
I hope that the scans come back with a negative for your husband. I've got everything crossed for him. If the worst does happen it is amazing what inner resources that your husband will find he has as I am sure that he does have lots of fight left in him still. I had 2 more occurrences of jaw cancer and I am here to tell the tale still and living life to the max.
Waiting is the worst but I do hope it is good news.
Sending my best wishes.
Lyn

Hi Bridget Am sorry that you're back in the waiting game. As we all know the waiting games the worst part. Everything x that there’s nothing amiss the camera up the nose is a way of them having a Quick Look around prior to any biopsy .None of us can 2 nd guess but we’re all here for you and has Sophie aka Lyn says it’s surprisingly where we get our resilience from if needed

Thanks Hazel , before i found Paul i was a nervous wreck because of previous relationships. I find myself being strong now and stronger after finding you guys. In the last year cried twice once last year because of peg tubes and once Monday because i was angry but hes seen me cry once Monday and doesnt help him . You guys have made this journey managable thank you everyone xxxx
Good evening bridgetb, i think they will tell you if they see anything with the camera but will not be able to give you diagnoses straight away, when i had the camera job they looked around and i was told everything was fine, If they do notice anything they will do a biopsy. Hopefully, the camera will not show anything sinister. Give your husband a man hug from me, all the best.
Chris xx
