Hi Paul. Radiotherapy will impact saliva which puts your teeth at risk of caries which is why you have the toothpaste and the oral rinse.
Caphosol and Difflam are to manage the mucositis ( ulceration) the RT will cause
Saliva Orthana is a saliva substitute. I found it tasted of off meat....I think it's pork derived....horrible but some folk are OK with it
Bioxtra gel is similar
Flamigel and polymer are to help with neck radiation "Burns" ...You'll likely not need the Polymem with just 4 weeks of treatment
Aqueous cream ...you must moisturise your neck thoroughly. I used Aloe Vera gel straight after RT as well as a moisturiser
Yes....We go home with a pharmacy. My cupboard ended up being a large drawer.

If you have time get a fluoride varnish from your dentist. Tell them you are having RT so that they cover the gum margins as well as the occlusal surfaces. That will give you three months of fluoride protection. It can become difficult to use Duraphat after a while in treatment and you will be drinking a lot of high sugar liquid

Sounds like they are very thorough! I had difflam during treatment but hardly used it . I have to buy Duraphat toothpaste from my dentist. All the best
Get your oncologist to write to your GP. It should be on prescription and free

Hi Paul this is great to have all this put in place before you start, in many or even most cases, you get these as you go along, as you have the need for them. To get Duraphat out of my dentist was like pulling teeth (pun intended). You're in good hands by the sound of it.
Ray.
I got the lot on prescription. It’s this dental treatment that’s the expensive bit. Polish, filling. Tooth varnish. I’m thinking of having them out and a fireplace fitted.
