Why it's worth writing something in your profile

Hello everyone

If you put brief details of your situation in your profile, you don't need to keep explaining yourself when posting questions, and people trying to answer you can give a better informed response

Love

  • Hi Catriona

That is so right. There are so many different types of head and neck cancers and the treatment can be varied as a result. I was quite ignorant about other head and neck cancers when I joined this forum and did not realise that. I thought my experience would be  the same or similar to everyone else's which obviously it is not as I know now.  I didn't know a thing about tonsil or tongue cancer but have learned such a lot over time just reading the posts here.

However there is definitely a common bond and great support here which is fantastic no matter what head and neck cancer you have.

    Best wishes

    Lyn

  • Brilliant. It makes it so much easier for us trying to give pertinent advice. It doesn’t have to be extensive.
Thanks Catriona for bringing this up. I do occasionally ask folk to do this

  • Yes I hadn't done that, but each time I commented on someone's post I was writing a brief description of what I had been through. I've now updated my profile, still brief but at least can see what's happened x

  • Just bumping this up again. If you click your own name and add a quick profile, it really helps people to make helpful responses to your posts.

Sending love & luck to all you lovely people

  • Yes. I wholehearted agree.
I’ve just asked one of our members to remind me of something. Having it in their profile would be so useful.

  • I certainly make it easier for people to give better and more accurate replies and as Dani said it saves going back through the history. It's great to hear you are doing well Catrina, wishing you all the best, take care, and thanks for this helpful post.
