Hi , I have followed this forum from the very start of my husband’s diagnosis and treatment. (6 weeks radio and 2 chemo sessions) The same horrible side effects that every has, he's come through it all and recovery has been good but steady and we have been awaiting the 3 month PET scan. Slightly worrying lumps still in neck but we were told they could be dead material as his neck lump was quite large. Diagnosis was back of tongue and lymph glands in the neck HPV+. Recently had the 3 month post treatment PET scan and he has been called for bloods and further scans as markers from the PET scan show areas on the neck lymph glands and liver . As you can imagine I am worried sick about this and wondering if anyone else didn’t have the clear PET scan result we all hope for.
Yes I had an avid spot where my cancer was and had a biopsy which was clear.
It is worrying but all you can do is wait. It’s good that his team is on top of it quickly. If the cancer hadn’t been cleared there are other options. Fingers crossed it’s just inflammation they have picked up

Hi fingers x from me as well. 12 weeks is early for pet Ct scan i was almost 18 weeks but different trusts do them at various times. Try to remain postive and keep busy as always its the waiting. It’s not uncommon for inflammation markers to show hope that’s the case for you.

Hi Daffodil24 I had the same diagnosis as your husband and had my first post treatment PET/CT scan at 16wks.. The tongue, throat and neck were clear, but there were nodules in my lungs lighting up. They told me they weren't concerned, it was liable to be inflammation or infection but I have a CT with contrast next week.
I thought 3 months was a long wait, but I was told there was no point in doing it any sooner. It's been hard waiting, but I decided to await the next scan results before becoming too concerned. There were days I managed that and days I didn't. I do hope your husband's new tests pan out well for him Tina x
