Hi Hud7
Yes a common problem
Just a question of food is fuel and trial and error.
You can try adding herbs and spices to your food and experimenting with textures.
I presume you can swallow? it’s just the taste?

Hi Hud
T2N1M0 tonsil cancer ....30 radio and 4 chemo
Diagnosed in February finished chemoradio June 2023
Most of us recovering are likely to have this issue, eating for me was a means to calorie build rather than a pleasure, slowly my taste is returning, takes time...I can now enjoy tea and chocolate biscuits, chippy food, mildly spiced Indian food, pizza etc.
Did not think I would have been able to enjoy food ever again..
... recovery is slow.
Peter
Hi not an uncommon problem I found the mayra food is fuel and eat to live not live to eat. Food gave me very little pleasure for a good 6 months but I made sure that I got 2500 :calorie s in each day I took my ng tube out week 3 of recovery and was getting 1800:calories from ensures leaving me free to experiment. I didn’t eat healthy but it was a means to an end. I didn’t start putting weight in until 15 month post treatment. I ate even though I had no appetite I found 5/6 small meals better than the standard 3. Breakfast was always my best meal porridge with honey and banana instill have that even now at 5 years plus. It’s not easy as the world revolves round food. It’s getting into the right mindset. You’ll gtbghere we all do it really is marathon nit a sprint. 8 weeks is really early although yiu might nit think so.
