I just started week 2. Have had severe sickness and burning on face and feet.
I feel like giving up is yhis normal I don't know what to do with myself. Any advice out there
Hi Therese. Yes it’s normal fir some people. Don’t give up. Giving up is far far worse. These symptoms can be managed. Tell your radiographers tomorrow how much trouble you are in.
If you are on chemo and that is causing the neuropathy you might be able to miss some of it. Lots of people do.
We always seem to be started in the cheapest anti nausea drugs which work really well with some people but not at all with others. There will be an alternative that will work.
Best of luck.

Hi Theres. Has Dani had said it’s normal but please tell your team they can alter your medication. Don’t give up head snd neck cancer’s respond extremely well to treatment. Yes treatment is brutal but it’s targeting a very sensitive area if our body. When you feel up to it let us know exactly where your cancer is then our responses csn be more targeted. Mine was tonsil snd lymph nodes.

Hi Therese
I felt like giving up 4 weeks into my radiotherapy because of the pain. I did not have chemo. I saw my radiotherapy doctor and he upped my pain meds and this really helped. Up until then I was only on paracetamol. I was also told that if I did stop the radiotherapy that I would have gained nothing. I thought then that as I had already gone through 4 weeks that I would have to grit my teeth and finish otherwise I had wasted 4 weeks for no benefit.
It is a tough time but talk to your radiotherapy doctor about how you are feeling and I am sure that he will be able to assist.
