Morning All
After having my RIG fitted last Wednesday i've had problems with it leaking and being really, really sore. To top it off my mouth heamouraged again yesterday morning, but not for as long as last time.
After several calls it was decided to admit me to my local Hospice to get me sorted and back on my feet.
This is my first stay in the hospice and i have to say the nurses have are absolutely lovely and the care is 1st class.
It's been a very uncompfortable and stressfull week, and to have this standard of care has taken all the stress away making it feel like sheer luxury, I can't praise them enough. I really don't think these nurses get the praise or regongnition they deserve.

Good evening Cat, im so happy for you being admitted to your local hospice as they are the best in this sort of care, you will get the best care and rest you need to recover. As Dani said their work is often undervalued, im sure this will also speed up your recovery knowing you you are being well cared for. Wishing you all the very best in your recovery, take care.

Hi Cat
Sorry to hear things have not gone so well for you after having the RIG fitted. You have such a positive attitude and deserve a break.
I'm glad to hear that you are getting the help you need in the hospice. My experience with nursing staff with all my hospitalisations has also been very positive. The nurses are so encouraging and helpful and it makes such a difference in your recovery. They are saints in my opinion and deserve a medal. They have always listened to my concerns and been so understanding. It is a real calling.
Hope you get home soon and that things get really sorted out for you.
Sending you lots of positive thoughts and hugs.

Morning people
I found out yesterday that it's the buttons that are causing the pain. Where it is healing they are pulling really tight, unfortunately it's too early to have them snipped, and because of bank holiday they can't do it until Tuesday .
But it has put my mind at rest that it's only that, i was worried that because it was leaking it wasn't going to heal properly and something nasty was going on with my wound.
So getting there slowly.

That's good Cat at least you know what is causing you the pain, i had PEG which is the same as a RIG but fitted differently if i remember from other posts the buttons and stitches are to stop it from moving or coming out. Its always a worry when things don't feel right as its all new to us so we learn as we go along. Hopefully they will be able to sort it out on Tuesday, slowly does it. best wishes.
