I'm waiting for a date for my treatment to start. I feel so scared and tired . My whole body hurts with arthritis pain and throat/ear pain. I keep thinking cancer has spread. Just the thought of all the treatment makes me feel awful. Is this normal to worry like this.

  • Hi Therese. The waiting’s the worst part . Your brain goes into overdrive. Try to keep busy keep off Dr Google. Tell us a little more about your diagnosis we are all happy to help if we can.
Take everything one day at a time and try not to think sbout spreading its rare for  our type of cancers to metastases.

  • It is absolutely normal to worry about things Therese. It’s a huge relief once you have a diagnosis and your treatment actually begins, and that shouldn’t be far away.  Please use people in here to try to keep things in perspective and to help you through this very difficult time. Any question is a good question. We are all behind you Thumbsup

  • Hello. Totally normal. The waiting is stressful. Once treatment starts there is a sense of relief. Take it day by day. Keep busy by prepping for treatment - get some good books, download some shows, stock up the freezer…Try mindfulness apps to get off to sleep.

    Hi Therese and welcome.

We are a friendly bunch and there is a wealth of experience here and all of us have sat and stewed and worried our way through early and late days. the others are right. Once you start you get through day by day and do it.

If you have time put a short biography in your profile. Tell us about yourself and your diagnosis and treatment if you can. it helps us answer your questions in the future without you having to repeat yourself. We can simply refer back, quickly to your history. Have a look at mine for a start....which I must update....by clicking on my name

The treatment is tough but doable. I have a friend who has rheumatoid arthritis and is on all sorts of drugs for it. She managed radiotherapy for tongue cancer and got through it. So will you.

    Hugs
