Bad breath after immunotherapy for cancer of hypopharynx

Hi.....my husband has cancer of the lower throat ( hypopharynx) ,inoperable and unable to have radiotherapy/chemotherap. He has  received 7 immunotherapy infusions so far (every 6 weeks). I have noticed that his breath smells lately ( of poo ):   ) which is rather unpleasant and he does have an unpleasant taste in his mouth. Is this an effect of the throat cancer growing more or could it indicate cancer cells breaking down? ( I would like to think the latter) He has no signs of gum or teeth infections to cause this

. Has anyone any experience of this?

  • Hi Mynydd. I can't help re the bad smell but it's good news that you are getting this extra time together.

Is your husband due any more scans that might show what his tumour is doing? Is he maybe getting constipated? My breath was always worse during treatment if I hadn't taken enough Laxido. It's something to ask his team I guess.

    Best wishes
