Hi all, another little update for anybody interested, and me to look back on!
Week 4 - Petty much the same as week 3. Everything tastes rank, still managing to eat but I feel less inclined to do so...really have to force it down.
Week 5 - It's all ramped up this week. Half way through I've upped the pain meds. Doc is pleased with my progress though and the amount I'm taking. He's also happy with my weight, because I really haven't lost much...which is amazing given how little I am eating compared to before treatment.
End of week 5 , starting to struggle now with the mucous and diarrhoea. Without going into gruesome details, it's making me feel so sick. My mouth is really sore now too...looks pretty gruesome! Mornings are awful until I'm up to speed with meds and my rituals...then it's the long trip to hospital and back. The radiographers have been great. My specialist nurse seems to have gone AWOL on me, so I'm asking them loads. I have only seen the dietician once and I was told nurse and dietician would be at my weekly clinics? Yet to see my nurse there!
Only 3 more RTs to go, just about had enough now...I'm so tired. Having said all the above, I think I built up such a horrid vision in my head before and it's not been any worse than I expected, if that, and then only for a couple of weeks. I know I have a long way to go and it's far from over and we all have different journeys, but I was dreading RT and I'm nearly done with that part.
Hope you are all doing OK ️

Hi Linda. Sounds like you’ve cracked it. Time to hunker down and heal. Take it slowly and be kind to yourself. It will be a few weeks before you’re feeling a little better. Well done

Hi Linda it's good that you have nearly finished, your treatment. Time to recover now, give yourself time with lots of sleep and rest, it sometimes feels like 1 step forward 2 back, but you will get there. Keep us updated. Any questions or worries, just ask on here, someone will answer if they can. All the best.
Regards Ray.
Ray , you’re spot on. This time is difficult. We miss the daily support we have had for the last six weeks. It can be lonely especially as we often don’t get better as quickly as we hoped. One day at a time. Some days are good and some days we seem to slip back but progress is relentlessly forward.
