Hi Everyone....me AGAIN lol but I absolutely know you will have some good advice for me in this. Well I am here midway through week 5 doing ok. I have started to feel the treatment talking it's effect on my neck it is red, the skin feels tight and I am just starting to get some sores. I asked the radiotherapy team and they just said to keep using the emollient cream. Is there anything else that would help? Many thanks :-)
Hello. I used Epimax cream & used to fill a drinks bottle with ice & roll it over the sore areas. A silk pillowcase was very soothing too.
Hi Karen. This is the stuff you need. Get it from your hospital

Hi Karen. I too used Flamigel during most of the treatment, although I used E45 at night, and then when it started to blister towards Week 6 they gave me Flaminal Hydro which worked an absolute treat. It looked a mess on my neck but sorted things out brilliantly within days. I still need to moisturise my neck morning and night, and after nearly two years of much experimentation I’ve settled on Aveena moisturising cream. Well done you - you’re nearly there!
If you have blistering ask them about Polymem wound dressings. RadioactiveRaz had to use those as her neck got in a bit of a mess.

Thank you so much for this it is really helpful, I am now in week 6 and over the last couple of days have seen some blistering appear. I will ask for the hydro version. Really appreciate the long term advice too! Although there were days that I didn't think I would get to end...I managed, not without alot of support and advice from this grou. Thank you so much. Best wishes Karen
Hi Karen as Dani says my neck erupted week 5 I had ti gave cling film out on my neck prior to each radiotherapy then s polymem bandage fixed on. Once treatment finished it took 2/3 weeks to heal still using the bandages.
good luck this week.
