Any one had one of these please. Surgeon said he was just taking a big lump out of my neck and using bits from my thigh for flap etc . Do they just remove nodes on that side does anyone know ?. He said I will lose certain movement on my arm but wondering about lymph nodes etc and whats the future holds in general after all this . Thanks
Not had exactly that but I have had a pec flap taken, and that's a "Pectoralis Major flap" which is taken from the chest rather than the thigh; consequences a couple of years on are negligible.
Had a dissection in 2014 and yes, still have somewhat limited right arm mobility, but it's just normal now and gives me no bother....other than reaching to top shelf in the supermarket occasionally, have to use my left.

Good to hear you're sounding optimistic and chilled.
For me being on the ward was always the easy bit; would be wrong to say I enjoyed it but it was a great security blanket. My personal speciality was struggling to sleep all night when it was quiet and then passing out when the chaos of ward rounds started, many times I had to be nudged awake to find myself surrounded by team/students.
Hope you have a good night x
