Hi again. As you all know I am waiting to start treatment for head and neck cancer of unknown primary. I need to have a lung biopsy and had to have a tooth out at Leeds dental hospital which caused a huge abcess. We are currently on honeymoon until the 23rd. On the day we come back I have an appointment with my ENT surgeon. Yesterday I received a text from Bradford hospitals saying I have to see a different clinical oncologist in March NEXT YEAR. Can anybody shed any light on this. Surely they won't be leaving me without treatment until then? Thanks Jen x
Hi Jen lovely picture. You’re with 2 different trusts leeds cancer centre and Bradford royal ? from memory. I woujd call leeds up when you can am sure they won’t be leaving you. Maybe the Bradford one is a future appointment ?

Your appointment is likely an admin error. You will be very closely folllowed up for your first year. I saw my oncologist every six weeks.

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
Likely an error as Dani says Jen; I was once sent one for the week just passed. I phoned to explain this and they were prepared to, "give me the benefit of the doubt" and rebook it, although that was the booking office and not my team.
Really is a stunning photo (your hubby's hairstyle is very much like mine), where are you honeymooning if you don't mind me asking?
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Wonderful photo. I hope the honeymoon is just as fantastic as your wedding looks to have been.
As others have said it is likely to be an admin error. One piece of advice - the NHS operates a hugely complex operation and although probably 99.9% goes entirely to plan little things (that are big mountains to the individuals concerned) do go wrong. Always take charge of your treatment and don't be fobbed off. If your notes say your consultant wants to see you in a specific timeframe then if you have not heard about the appointment a reasonable time out then ring and get it sorted.
Ah lovely, big Greece fan me! Visited Kos quite a few years ago but Zakynthos has been our "go to" for nearly twenty years now, love the people and the way of life.
And low maintenance hair has a lot to be said for it (although make sure he wears a hat over there)!
