Hi folks. I've had biopsies taken from my tongue, tonsils and nasal space this afternoon. My vocal chords looked OK. The consultant came to see me before I came home. The results of the lymph node show that I do have cancer unfortunately. They need to find where it has spread from. Suppose I feel shocked. I'm getting married in three weeks. I haven't even been given any information. Jen.
Good evening Jen, so sorry to be hearing this,i know its not the news we all wanted but at least you and your team know where you stand and they can draw up a treatment plan a.s.a.p. I don't think they will do anything before the wedding unless they feel it's needed, im sure you will also be contacted very shortly for further information. Stay strong , hugs.

Hi Jen. Sorry to hear your news I too had several lymph nodes with cancer in them . My primary was in my tonsil. There’s a tried and trusted pathway. When you next see consultant tell them about your plans abs see what can work for both if you I do know a few who have postponed treatment to go away plus others who have had to wait due to hospital pressure in radiotherapy machines.keep in your mind head and neck cancers are eminently curable and respond well to treatment.
your head will be all over the place hopefully next meeting will focus things.

Thank you Hazel and Chris. I will be glad to know where the primary is and the stage it is at. At least then we can deal with it. For now I think I need a good long sleep.
Hi Jen...sorry about the news. I think maybe you suspected it but it's still a shock after all that hoping. Your biopsy results should be available to the team being organised to treat you within two weeks so I'm sure you will hear from them pretty soon. Oropharyngeall cancer has a typical spread pattern to the lymph nodes which is what's happened with you. It's also very curable...not just treatable
Treatment set up will take time. Time for you to get married and go on honeymoon with little chance of anything getting worse.
Rest up and pop back when you need us
Hugs

Hi Dani
The head and neck cancer nurse rang today. The neck lump is metastasised scc. They are trying to find the primary and I have a neck mri on Saturday. I also have a nodule on my lung so have to see a chest specialist too. It's my brothers funeral on Friday and I've got so much to deal with the wedding. It's such a worry at the moment x
Hi Nodules on lung are quite common often go back to childhood. Yes my lymph nodes were from my primary which was tonsil again it’s not uncommon. You’ll stress it’s only natural but take heart from us on here. We’ve been there and gone through to the other side. Almost 4 years for me

Hi Jen. Nodules are common. Most are harmless and due to some insult like a chest infection. I have two. I had two chest CTs three months apart to make sure they weren’t growing.

Sorry to hear the news. However, keep to your wedding plans as everything takes time and by continuing with the wedding I am sure you will find yourself in a far better place mentally to deal with the diagnosis. I think I said before that 3 days after my diagnosis I went to the USA for 3 1/2 weeks holiday... You can do it then face the treatment together.
