After having a sore soft pallet since June 2021 , I have eventually just been told I have stage 3 cancer on my uvula , soft pallet & right & left neck lymph node I’m going to be having radiotherapy & 2 chemo , my first oncologist appointment will be next week , waiting for it to come through , I won’t lie , I’m so scared of the unknown & the side effects ,
m 55 , quite active , 4 grandchildren , I am also the backbone of my family
I do everything for them , I’m glad I found this forum although some things I read scare me
ah thanks Hazel , my hair appt on the 21st is for colour/highlights top up (roots) . and all over cut /trim.. do you think I would be okay to have the colour ? or avoid it ... it will be a while before I am back at hairdressers again so was hoping to sneak this one in just before treatment, it has been booked for months and I was assuming I would have to cancel as I really didn't know that only certain chemos cause hair loss..so when I found out that was not the case I then thought I may just go ahead and get my hair done before it all kicks off with treatment .

Thank you Dani for confirming ... that is reassuring . I hope that any hair loss via stress would have shown by now but I guess I should count my chickens just yet..

Hi there
i had my hair cut and highlighted before I started treatment. I also had an eyelash dye and eyebrow tint. I painted my toenails as well. It was something I could control and I am glad I did it. I did loose hair on nape of neck but all grown back now.
