Hi I have to have a PICC line done on 2/12/2021. Can anyone please explain to me if I will get a nurse to help me .
Hi Clace. I haven’t had one in but had a friend whose chemo was delivered that way. As far as I know she went to hospital they set the chemo up for her and was allowed home for the duration of delivery i think 4 days. Then when next infusion the hospital nurses set it up again am sure someone will pop on who has more experience than me.

Hi Clace. A PICC is just to deliver your chemo. That’s where the nurses will put the drugs. If you’re on 5FU then the infusion takes a few days and you carry it around with you. In between you care for it at home. Your nurses will show you how to do it.
