well got the all clear today for the time being back in3 months time so all good. This lovely women came up to where I was standing at the cancer centre and wanted a coffee which I said isn't going to happen. I did offer to get her one which she refused . She was there getting checked over etc . but her brother was at different hospital and she had no money etc . Well i did offer and she was salt of the earth person I told her I would see consultant and find her . Well consultant was happy and I went looking for this women called lynn . Boy o Boy did we do some talking and laughing , we both had some serious problems but were splitting our sides laughing , She was saying because she lives alone she has to do things which I said was great and I poured my heart and we had a great time . This was Lynns third time getting cancer and a different one and all . She gave me some serious advice about me time and I told her I went for  a blood test this morning and sat outside a cafe and had a coffee and loved it and ordered another one and really enjoyed it . Lynn said to me she feels down sometimes and I said that is normal but what you have to remember is that there is always people worse off than you. There by the Grace of God go I .We are all Blessed and sometimes we cannot see the wood from the trees. Love You All XX and Lynn

  • Hi Minmax, great news with your check up. It sounds like you met up with a really nice person in Lynn, it's good to talk to someone who has been through the same. I went to a meeting with other people who have had head and neck cancer, about 6 monthes after my treatment  finished, it was really helpful to talk to others who knew the hiccups and worries we have along the way. All the best to you.

    Regards Ray.

  • Great news and what a brilliant meeting. We mumble away in our own little lives...sometimes up and sometimes down and it's not until a personal encounter with somebody coping with much worse than us that we get a good kick up the pants. Today the sun is shining. It's a glorious day after the storm...life goes on and it's all the more glorious because we we've had to fight for ours. Cheers min...you HAVE cheered me up even more

  • Hi Ray  Thanks Yes indeed it certainly helped chatting and Lynn was telling me about her chemo which was the third time and she had to give herself injections for a low white blood cell count. She was telling me about felling ill which I could totally relate to. Its bad enough being ill from cancer but when you feel queasey and can't stand up its not good. All the Best Regards Minmax

  • Thanks Dani Yes it was lovely talking to Lynn and its nice to speak to someone like minded. She told me she use to go to the half way cafe on the back of a bike years ago and just drink tea and watch the world go bye . She said she told some this and they couldn't understand it. Just goes to show how different people can be All the Best Minmax

  • Hi Dani I remember a saying from another forum which I thought was good but have never really lived my life by. There is still time left which is great news . Never hurry Never worry and always stop to smell the flowers . All the best Regards Minmax

  • Hi Minmax,

Great news on the all clear. What a fantastic chance encounter, and laughter is absolutely medicine for the soul. This whole experience is such a whirlwind, to hit pause and laugh, take in the scenery or just enjoy the moment in whatever way works for you is so good. I think after all this we appreciate these times more than ever.

    Take care,  Ronnie
