Hi Everyone
I wonder if anyone can help us with my husbands post operative recovery. One of the many difficulties he is finding is that his breath is now really malodorous and he is becoming quite self conscious.
Firstly - is this normal? And secondly, will it resolve itself or will it be something that we need to manage longer term?
Thanks again.
It will pass I had bad breath and was unhappy and self conscious as well and after 2 / 3 weeks it just disappear
Good evening 10blass, it is very common to have bad breath after surgery or treatment is because it hard to get on top of oral hygiene, i could not brush my teeth for a few weeks so relied on mouthwash using a mouth swab ( a stick with a sponge) as it was easier and kinder, you can get so many different mouthwashes with Biotene being one of the most gentle ones. It should improve but if not contact your husbands team and they can have a look inside his mouth for any infections. I still use mouthwash every day but now use a childs toothbrush as it has a smaller head. All the best to you both, take care.
Chris x
