Hello, I’ve not posted here for quite a while now, but I do lurk.
I have always had a really dry mouth at night, to the point where my tongue is bone dry. This morning when I woke up I had dried blood on my lips, and it appeared to be on my tongue. Can’t see any sign of having bitten it. It’s feels a bit weird today- maybe a bit dizzy.
Has anyone else experienced a dry tongue bleeding at night?
Thanks
Hi it’s possible that your tongue stuck to roof of mouth in night. Do you have any saliva ? Even a tiny bit you could try xyimelts from online Amazon or others. Even now I use 1/2 of one plus sips of water during night. I am 33 months post treatment how far out are you ? The dizziness could be low blood pressure did you have chemo ?

If you have blood in your mouth I'd definitely get it checked asap, I had a bit of blood on my pillow one night and two days later had a carotid artery bleed caused by an infection which needed emergency surgery and a week in hospital. Unlikely to be the case for you but better safe than sorry.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Hi DLC im just wondering if you have been coughing lately and a blood vessel has given way, ,its has happened to me where i have coughed it up and panicked but it was just a bit of damaged caused by over coughing , some times they can cauterise the vessel to stop iy happening again. I believe its a common practice in nose bleeds . Hope all works out ok for you , nice but not to see you again , best wishes ,take care .

June 14 surgery for Carcinoma in sublingual salivary gland. Partial glossectomy, left neck dissection, reconstruction with left radial forearm free. flap. Postoperative radiotherapy 6 weeks.
I agree with Mike. I would get it checked up, especially as its some years since you finished your treatment. No point in worrying if it's nothing much but equally if there is something going on it's best addressed straightaway.
Fingers crossed it's nothing
