I am wondering about Chia pudding the reason being I have one most day's, it consists of three tablespoons chia seeds 1 tablespoon of flax seeds whole fat milk and berries on top with cream this has been part of my diet for about 18 months it's packed with fibre and nutrients. I hope I will be able to continue having the pudding maybe without the berries.

PS. Thank you all for your input

  • Hi Viv all you can do is try it there may come s time even though the chia seeds are tiny you just can’t swallow them. Try blending them   I used them in nutri bullett but there came a point I couldn’t swallow them even blended. It’s really trial  and error. Some people keep eating all wzy through others by week 3/4 need help unfortunately no set pattern. With me it was when my porridge or soggy weetabix just wouldn’t go down my throat after brkng sat there 45 mins. Good luck

  • I reckon you’ll be fine. With a bit of luck your throat will be spared much radiation.

Chia and Flax are very healthy for you and as you say full of fibre

But do run any supplements past your oncologist. Radiotherapy is an oxidative process and taking vast amounts of antioxidants might not be wise.

Thanks for the answers, my treatment starts tomorrow so I will ask them while there! I am hoping the treatment because it is over 3 weeks I may miss the worst of the side effects.

  • I’m being nosey. Ask how much radiation you are getting if you don’t mind, of course. It just helps answering any questions for those who follow.

  • Hi Dani Yes overnight or even a couple of hours will do until they expand , Dont laugh now but I thought I would try and sort myself out health wise and went vegan about a year and a half ago. Then I had a few minor heart attacks and a stent fitted in january. And now cancer in december. I wonder should I bother going for my appointment to see the cardiologist in January lol . Have a look at the Happy pear they do some really healthy stuff. All the best regards Min

  • Thanks Min. It looks awful. Like frogspawn. Is it slimy?
I ask because I need to eat more fibre. In fact I need to eat more healthily all round.

  • I have a jar that I still havnt opened yet , Have a look on utube and they do a load of really healthy stuff. You can make these meals/ breakfasts overnight really simple . oats and sling everything together I put nuts , flax seeds , pumpkin seeds , blueberries , etc , Its actually cheaper to buy frozen berries as fresher and cheaper sometimes All the best Min
